Default Any products out there to preserve a non replaced dash?

Has anybody had any luck with products to help preserve the dashboard and help stop it from cracking?

I have a 2005 GX470 that I picked up from Illinois, now that its in California I can see the dash starting to crack.
I'd like to keep this dash preserved for as long as I can before I go with the molded cap or even a dash mat.

Any suggestions of products that someone has used out there would be amazing.
Thanks, J

Do you have a window shade? Also side and rear window tint makes a huge difference. And of course I'm sure you know there are various vinyl treatments that have UV filtering.

I do have tint and use a sunshade when parked but I have permanent solar on the roof and I am generally pointing right at the sun when camping. I will crack the windows to vent the hot air but I also like to keep the dust down in the inside of the rig.

I am hoping there is a product out there that someone has had great luck with keeping the dash moisturized.
Thanks for the reply

I use Aerospace 303. I live in SoCal and my 2008 is an original SoCal car it's whole life. Original dash, no cracks (knock on wood) and still looking good. I would not expect it to be a miracle spray but it seems to be working for me.

I use Mothers Protectant. No cracks on my dash, at least not yet.

After a bad experience with Armor-All, I never use any chemicals on my dash. But I do hear good things about 303.

One thing you may consider is applying a film to your windshield. 3M now makes a clear film that blocks over 95% of UV and doesn't reduce visible light.

Agree with Armor-All. I never use that stuff. Bad experience as well. That is why I was leery of 303 at first but after some recommendations from friends and my detailer said 303 is good stuff and confirmed Armor All is crap, I decided to use 303 and have been using it for years with good results so far.

I've used 303 on my dash for years. The GX is stored in a garage and I don't really drive it much but, it still developed some cracks. Just as bothersome is how sticky the dash gets when it (rarely) sits in the sun, even with the window shade. I'd thought the sticky-ness was from the 303 but, apparently, our dashboards suffer from both cracks and "sticky-ness" that cant be cleaned off. The 303 and using window shades is probably your best bet (though, the front window tint has always intrigued me).

I've owned the car since 2009 and, while I receive recall notices, I never received anything about the dashboard warranty and only discovered it here after the program ended. I deal with it but, it's pretty frustrating for what is, otherwise, an awesome car.
