KDSS Nightmare

KDSS Nightmare
New to posting on the forum. I have searched and been unable to locate an answer.
2009 GX 470 138K KDSS dash light started coming on intermittently. Now the light is continuously on. This is a pavement princess - no mods. The KDSS operates fine, no lean and no clunking. I assume at some point there will be issue. The KDSS control unit is extremely corroded. (See photo) We have had this vehicle for 10 years.
It has codes for the KDSS accumulator pressure sensor and both actuators. My 4WD shop doesn't want to mess with it and the dealer quoted a $12K (WTH?).
Has anyone else converted KDSS to conventional sway bars? This shouldn't be that difficult. I have searched unsuccessfully for a KDSS/sway bar conversion kit.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Corroded components is going to make KDSS ownership a nightmare for many in the years to come. The dealer quote is wild, I'd try another local dealership, Toyota even. There are special service tools (SST's) used to work on the high pressure system that most shops won't have, so you're pretty well stuck with dealers for KDSS work.
I've never seen anyone convert a KDSS to non-KDSS w/ swaybar setup, the front lower control arms are different due to the KDSS attachment points, and it's possible the brackets for the endlinks aren't even present on the rear of the KDSS trucks, you'd have to look. It's not going to be a straightforward conversion, there will be welding involved I'm guessing.

Yeah, that $12k price is the "Make it high enough so that they go somewhere else" quote.
Agree that conversion to non-KDSS is going to be difficult.
Check with parts yards, and replace that lump of .. whatever it is now? You will still need someone to deal with the high pressures, bleed the system, etc.
