Front wheel bearing question
Replacing my front wheel bearing. When I took it apart the OEM bearing had an O-ring, but also there was a gasket against cv axle side that was pretty deteriorated. The replacement (OEM bearing + hub from EBay) has the O-ring but not the gasket.
I’ve searched for the right part number that’s needed, but none of the diagrams that I’ve looked at show that there is a gasket there. I recently replace my CVs (within the last 1000miles) and the gasket that came out was really bad so it had to be an original part.
any ideas?

Are you talking about the oil seal on the CV side of the knuckle?
P/N 90316-72001 for both left/right sides.
Or the thing between item 2 & 3 on this diagram (that doesn't have a P/N for it)

It’s definitely not the second item. But when I replaced my axles about 1000miles ago, the oil seal looked good from that side of the knuckle so I didn’t touch it. But now looking at it from the hub side, maybe a portion of it has brittles apart. Here are some pics of the “gasket” and the backside of the bearing at the axle seal

I can see the steel spring that keeps the seal tight against the shaft - it's bad. I think the thing that came off is the outer part of it.
(side note - I know someone who worked at Koyo Bearings. I didn't know they made seals too)
