2004 GX470 Stereo Harness location help
Hu. I am replacing my headunit again. When I first got the car, I had a Kenwood DN8120 put in by best buy in 2008. I wanted an upgrade so I'm putting in a Boss BE headunit to get Apple play and new features. When I got inside, there are wires going everywhere and not labeled very well. The factory JBL is still in so I would like to find the harnesses for the hu and speakers, but can't. There are rca connectors connecting somewhere but the harness I bought from Crutchfield is an Axxess TYTO-01 Wiring Interface but I don't see the factory connectors.
I bought a reverse harness to clean up the wiring but I'm not sure where to patch it in.
Anyone have an ideas?
Thanks, Mike

Hopefully they didn't cut the factory harness when they installed your Kenwood. If they did, they're idiots and their moms probably hate them.
But identifying it should be straight forward - follow the wires from where they were plugged into the Kenwood. If they vanish into the dashboard, then they cut the factory harness and you will need to identify the colors to figure out what they all do.
Download the wiring diagram from the sticky'd posts at the top of this forum.

Chip, sometimes you take pn a project and you do research and get information, but not in sequence... I looked at the diagram a week ago but did not really get it. now that I have worked on this for awhile, your comment connected the dots for me. I bought a reverse harness but didn't know where to attach it. Now, maybe I can clean the wiring up as I connect my new HU to the correct wiring. I've seen you comment on other people's questions and you gave good advice. So thank you for pointing me the right way!

On the very edges of the page? That's how they take a wire from one page to another. The 17th wire on the right side will be the 17th wire on the left side of the following page.
