If you have a bead beaker, you don’t have to pay for new mount and balance to replace your own TPMS.
Wow. New sensors of almost any brand are near $30/ea these days. That shop is wanting +120% !!!
But duly noted, there is technically no demounting/mounting of the tire to install sensors. Maybe the shop "mount" is literally placing the wheel up onto the tire machine?

Re-balancing is recommended. I am not sure I feel any diff with -7g.

The GX uses the more expensive model of sensor.
That don't auto-learn.

It is illegal to knowingly disable or make a safety feature inoperable in the US as governed by NHTSA.

How you mean?
What sensors have auto-learn?

The Hondas I had would auto-learn. When you replaced a sensor, after driving 10 miles or so the TPMS computer would learn the new sensor's ID and register it.
The GX does not use that model of sensor/computer and replacing a sensor means it must be coded to the vehicle (5 of them, including the spare. 10 if you make use of the winter-tire setting)

With a TPMS tool you can read the existing codes from the TPMS module, then just re-program the new set prior to installation. Ez-pz. The TS508 does also allow me to set sensor ID's into the TPMS module, but I simply did the 1st task.

Default Need TPMS rest instructions

I've had all 5 TPMS sensors replaced by my tire shop few months ago along with new wheels and tires, and now I get a blinking tire pressure light followed by it becoming steady. Sometimes it goes away on its own and then comes back on later. I've checked the tire pressure on all 5 tires and they're all set at 36 psi. I took it to my tire shop today and they scanned all 5 TPMS sensors to make sure they are working fine.

I just did a search for TPMS here on the forum but did not find definitive instructions on using the TPMS reset button that's located below the steering wheel. If you have experience resetting it and can provide step by step instructions that would be very helpful. I'm going on a long family trip and if the tire pressure light comes on, it will make me very nervous and keep me on the edge. I don't want to disable it.

There is no reset button , that button stores two different sets of monitors in case you switch to winter tires that are mounted on wheels. If the light is coming on there is an error somewhere…your tire shop would have to diagnose it or replace monitors.

Scanning the new sensors to make sure they’re working is only half the task. Did your shop plug their scan tool to your OBD2 port to enter new sensor info into the ECU?

That's too bad if there is no reset button. They used a tool to diagnose all sensors and found that the one in spare was not responding so they replaced that. There was another one which was slow to respond so they replaced that one as well just in case.

I'm not sure, but I'll call today to ask. I saw all my dash lights blinking at one point after they replaced the 2 sensors, but after they were done with everything the lights were gone. You must have heard of Radial Tires in Maryland....that's where I always go and they really know their stuff.

I did confirm with the tire guy that he used the scan tool to reset the ECU with new sensor info. He said to bring the car back in so they can see what's going on.

Hmm weird. Radial Tires go way back and is a very good tire shop. Good to hear they’ll address this for you. Hopefully a simple fix.
I can recommend a shop in Howard County if you’re up this way. I just had new wheels, tires and sensors installed without issues.

These guys are really cool. He spent over an hour diagnosing and resetting using his scanning tool. Problem seems to have gone away for now 🤞

I’m in Howard county so please send me name of the tire shop and any other mechanic or custom shop that you recommend in DMV area. Would be super helpful as I need a mechanic I can trust and use the parts that I provide.
