Default 2009 GX470 - Bluetooth Inquiry

I couldn’t find anything in the threads but wondering if anyone had a recommendation for connecting an I-phone to the stock radio (ML system) so that I can stream music etc? I’ve seen some cheesy videos on YouTube but want the best option. - Thank you in advance.

I just use a bluetooth adapter that can be found on Amazon for about $15. Sounds fine to me and is pretty convenient when you don't want to replace the entire entertainment stack.

Get BT receiver/adapter for AUX jack or run a cord from phone to aux jack on console and listen through AUX

I use a simple Bluetooth adapter like the one mentioned above hooked up to my Aux port. Voila. Wireless music streaming.

I got a pretty nice set up for $30 - just using a blue tooth adapter and an aux cord.

I really like Anker brand stuff - picked up their cigarette lighter blue tooth receiver for $20. This receives the blue tooth from your phone, then it will broadcast it on FM, or it will relay it to a 3.5mm Audio Aux cable. Its powered by the cigarette lighter, and has both USB power ourlets. Its really easy - just plug and play.

The FM radio broadcast works fine, but the Aux quality is better so I picked up a short 3.5mm cable for $10 and now I'm all set.

Some day I may do something more in depth with the AV, but this gets me what I need for now!

If you don't have an aux jack, you can use a cassette Bluetooth adapter.
They sound better than the FM adapters and you won't have to adjust it on highway trips (as you get into range of a station using the same FM frequency)

If you're willing to open up the dash you can add a Bluetooth module that acts like a CD changer. GROM, USA Spec, and a few others make them.

Amazon sells the TUNAI Firefly LDAC Bluetooth adapter powered by an Anker USB cig lighter car charger. Input cable attaches to the 2 channel input right beside the lighter socket. Do you have your BT turned on in your ML. My iPhone connects to 2 channels: One to the phone audio and one to the AUX/ DVD media channel.
BTW if you can locate some vintage DVD-Audio Discs (5.1 channel) the ML system sounds fantastic with the balance settings optimized for each disc! Some DTS DVDs also playback 6 channels of separation so try any you may have (not all work) Enjoy.
Read your Lexus manual on how to use the ML system re: BT if not pairing to iPhone.

I had Fleetwood Mac Rumors on DVD-Audio. It truly was fantastic on the home system with 6 discrete channels. Cost me a fortune in Monster Cables to hook it up...
Alas, my year GX won't play them - it's CD only.
