All, I was quoted $2465 on a Platinum warranty (72/100000) for a new 2007 GX470 at the dealership. I will give Troy a call to see what he can offer. Since the manufacturer warranty will not expire for 4 yrs, will it cost me more to purchase this warranty later.
Also, can I get your opinion on the other 3 services the dealer is pushing.
LOJACK: $795 ($5000 guarantee and lifetime warranty)
ROAD HAZARD: $449 (replace tires and wheels , upto 5 yrs coverage)
DENT PROTECTION: $483 (door ding, upto 5 yrs coverage)

lfs reprices their plans typically on an annual basis, so yes, the retail and cost amounts will be higher in the future

Would it be proper to ask for Troy's general e-mail at the dealership please? I would like to contact him. I have already gotten the phone number from this helpful site. Thanks so much in advance.

Is the Lexus warranty bumper to bumper. I have read that the 1st 4 years which is from the mfg is bumper to bumper but the last 3 years is not. I lost the site where I read this.
Secondly, can others comment on whether or not they purchased the other service plans.

Thanks,
dsmiles

yes, the platinum plan is the same as the 4yr 50k from the factory, adds up to an extra 3yrs or 50k more miles, 7yr 100k total.

lots of customers at my dealership take advantage of the platinum plan, either at the time of purchase or after the sale

I just got a 7/100K Platinum Warranty from Jeff at Lexus of Huntsville and he was totally fair and honest. He even gave me a cheaper quote than Troy. I called both and Jeff gave me the better deal.

I tried to ask for a cheaper price with a deductible but Jeff told me that the price would even be bettter and wouldn't make that much difference.

Big ups for Jeff of Huntsville Lexus...

Warranty Direct is saying that the Lexus extended warranty does not specificly stated that it covers wear and tear thus making this subjective to the dealer or the underwriter. They gave a better price than Troy and stated that wear and tear coverage is clearly noted in their warranty. Has anyone had issues with this company or with Lexus having issues with this company.

BLKGX470,
Could you provide Jeff's contact information? I assume you mean Lexus of Huntsville in Alabama, right?

Did you happen to check out Warranty Direct before you decided on the Platinum Warranty? Just wondering.

Thanks.

AsianGirl.....

Actually, it depends on how many years you've had the car or how many miles you've driven it.

Lets say that you have driven your new car 50,000 miles in one year. Your extended warranty would give you 6 years or 50,000 miles.

Also, if you have had your car for 4 years and driven it 10.000 miles, your extended warranty would give you 3 years or 90, 000 miles.
