Default Faulty Tire Pressure Sensors - HELP

My GX’s tire pressure light is on. My dealer said that all tire pressure sensors are bad because there are flat-free chemicals in the tires (even in the spare tire). Therefore, the faulty sensors are not covered under warranty. They would cost over $1,200 to replace.
I asked them to contact Lexus Company … Same story ‘not covered’. I called Lexus customer service. He told me that it’s very unusual situation and need to contact a ‘specialist’ who will contact me within 48 hrs.
Meanwhile, my GX is sitting at the dealer lot since Monday.

Hi Angel.....

Have to disagree with you. A while back, at night my light went on, check the tires, they looked OK. The next day upon further inspection, I found a nail in one of them.

Recently, the light went on, I checked the tire pressure and added where necessary and the light went out.

If nothing else, the light makes you maintain the proper pressure in your tires.

Default Did you by the GX new?

lac, did you buy the GX new from a Lex dealer? Have you ever had someone else do work on the tires (i.e. get a flat repaired at NTB or something)?

Shortly after the light came on, I took the GX to my friend's garage (across from my work place) to check and rotate the tires. So no one touched it b/f the warning light was on.
My frustration is ... according to the car dealer, even the spare tire has flat free chemicals in it. Who would want or have time to do that?

Hey Cap whats up? Im just saying that they should have switch for all these sensor just in case we don't want to used them like the switch for the passenger air bag in some of the toyota models I think thats a perfect fix for someone that does not like all these sensor.

Angelslex:
Agree w/ you. There are so much electronic stuffs that would cost so much to fix after the warranty expired. My frustration is 1) who put in the flat-free stuff in my tires 2) Lexus is denying to pay fo it.

lol

the amonia in the fix a flat stuff what destoryed the tires. last week i had a car come in that had that problem. i found 3 of 4 sensors totally gumed up by it.

some1 had to put that stuff in it. at the dealer they wouldnt.

and 1200 sounds about right 2.5 hours to install sensors + another .5 for programing and i think 180 per sensor

Lex Corp. denies the warranty on the tire sensors because someone put the 'flat-free' chemicals in all 5 tires. No one touched the tires since I bought the car a year ago.
What can I do???? Please help.

Since I do not know who put the fix flat stuff in the tires, and no one other than the dealers and the factory touched the tires, what can I do legally to resolve this issue with Lexus? I already paid $200 for the replacement of 1 sensor.

PS: Angelslex - Thanks so much for the offer.

No ... my tires were never fixed or damaged. but according to the Lexus Dealer, someone put in the fix flat in the tires (all 4 + spare) that caused the failure of the sensors.
