I am trying to determine the latest available version of the navigation DVD for a Gen 4. I've seen a thread that points to a part number CY05 and indicates it's the latest but neither that thread nor the link specifies the version number. I currently have version 5.1 that came with my 06 GX470 that I bought 4 days ago and the dealer is saying that is the latest version. That version is now over 1.5 years old as I understand it as updates are "usually" released in October. I'm being told by my dealer that the update for Oct 05 was pushed out until February due to some major updates.
Can anyone provide clarification on this? Is there a version newer than 5.1 available now or is there really a delay?
Best regards,
TurboJones

update disc does usually arrive in October yet this year it arrived in January. You have the most recent version already so there is no need to upgrade until the next version comes out probably in one year.

My 06 GX which was built in Oct. 05 also has the 5.1 version nav DVD. From what I understand, all 06 GX470's have the latest version which wasn't commercially released till this month. At least they included it in our 06 GX's so we don't have to get the next upgrade till next year.

Hi Silver,
You've got the latest version of the NAV DVD, congrats! I replied back to Bob, about two weeks ago when he was polling GX owners on which version we had in our GX, my 05' GX (April 05' build) was shipped with 4.1 or 4.2 don't remember, it definately wasn't 5.1...
Hope this answers your question regarding the 05' models?
I'm assuming that as the DVD and the data is being mastered/recorded/manufactured and Lexus finally receives them that is when it gets installed into the vehicles, So most likely luck of the draw of which GX was the last one to receive the 4.x DVD vs. when the first GX received the 5.1 DVD.

Thank you all for the confirmations that I have the latest available version. Unfortunately this is very disappointing news to me, being in Real Estate, as my 5.1 version doesn't show streets that were created in 2004 in new areas around my city.
This must mean that NavTech or Lexus are WAY behind the curve. My handheld GPS that I bought 6 months ago has these new streets and the map data is provided by NavTech as well. Sounds to me like there is an opportunity for Lexus to speed things up for map DVD updates.
So this major update that my dealer is saying is coming in February, is that the 5.1 version I already have or is there in fact a new version coming soon? Any Lexus reps here to confirm this?
Best,
TurboJones

Well this is strange, there is a highway near me that used to have an at-grade intersection that was replaced with a cloverleaf a few months ago. The V4 nav disk had the cloverleaf on it when there wasn't a cloverleaf. The V5 nav disk doesn't have the cloverleaf, it now has the at-grade intersection.
I think the cloverleaf was a couple years behind schedule so they took it off the disk... Now the map is wrong. I'll have to try a few other new intersections and roads to see the rest... There is another place about an hour away where they took a road and put a traffic circle in for a new housing development that sprung up. V4 doesn't have the traffic circle... I'll have to load up the route to check.
