Cabin humidity with air conditioner off
Hi!
I was wondering if any of you are experiencing the following problem with your GX470:
In my Toyota, Subaru, and BMW, I can run the fan without the air conditioner often. Temperatures where I live are often a cool 65-75 degrees outside, hardly necessitating A/C except on the hottest days. The air smells fresh and clean. When I turn off the air conditioning in my GX470, however, the cabin quickly becomes humid and the windows fog up (especially at night). This problem is obviously cured by turning on the air conditioner again. I notice that when the A/C is turned off, the GX defaults to "recirculating." Pressing the recirculating toggle switch to outside air helps. However, even with the climate controls pulling air from the outside, it still becomes very humid inside the car and uncomfortable to the level that I have to run the A/C all the time (even when it is not hot outside). When I do not want to run the A/C, I have to open a window or the moonroof to prevent the cabin from fogging up. I do not have to do this in any of my other vehicles.
Is there any solution to this problem? Do some of you have similar findings? I have a 2006 GX470 with 9,000 miles on it.
I am not totally opposed to having to keep the A/C running all the time, but it robs power and reduces mileage. It is nice to have the full power of the V8 when I am towing my trailer, and my mileage is bad enough as it is!

However, if my memory serves me correctly, the cabin air still gets muggy even when the A/C has not been in use at all during the drive.
