That's pretty impressive that Lexus is there TWICE and others weren't. That goes to show I did make the right decision in getting the GX470.

I feel the same way hsk73. I just don't see it. Funny thing is I drive around and see different cars / suvs / trucks and I always wonder how some of those designs ever got out of the drawing room and actually got into production.

I know. A number of times while I was fueling up my GX, an owner of a QX56 would walk over and ask me about the GX. They always say that they have had nothing but problems with their QX such as brake problems, electrical problems and interior trim pieces falling off. One woman said her first QX was a buyback and her second one has even more problems then the first. The one thing they all liked about the QX was the power lift tailgate. That was it.

After 36,000 miles and 2 years, I can surely understand why the car is rated so well. I am so glad we bought this car instead of leasing it; not only would we have been over the milage of a lease, but we would have to get rid of the car at the end .

GX Rocks

QX56 and Armada - apparently the blind had a big vote - appealing would be the last word I would use to describe those - they are big and well appointed and reliable, but appealing like a barn door! Now the Porche Cayman (aka 911/996) would be my #1 also!

The term "appealing" in the article is misleading - it is a combination rating of not only curb appeal but performance, quality, reliability, convenience, comfort, etc.

You also have to figure most people won't buy a vehicle that makes them nauseous to look at . Since the people polled are recent buyers, they are pretty much rating their expectations versus reality of their new vehicles a short time after they bought it.

Of course, I disliked the barn door before I bought the GX, and hated it after, and probably said so in that particular survey - and the GX still came out on top!

Reliable? According to Consumer Reports, Nissan's new 5+ liter engine get's a BEWARE rating for poor reliability.

I can't believe the Armada and QX made it either. The Nissan Titan and Armada/QX56 share a large amount of parts. My Titan, while having a great engine, had every problem in the book. Windows, brakes, rattles, cheap interior, etc. While it was pouring down snow/freezing rain, my window regulator failed causing my right window to go halfway down on it's own and falling the rest of the way into the door!

I see no way those two made the list. Very unreliable vehicles to put it mildly. Honestly I don't ever give JD Power much credit.
