Default Have you replaced your battery yet?

I was just wondering if anyone has replaced their battery yet? Mine is a 2004 and still on the original battery but I am starting to keep an eye on it because it seems to take longer to start in the cold. Plus when I first picked it up from the dealer when new someone the night before left a door open and the battery was completely dead. What have your experiences been on the factory battery?

I too have an 04 with the orrignal battery and I think that it's on it's way out also. I would be interested in hearing what others have used to replace the OEM battery.

Does the GX come w/ the Japanese made Panasonic battery? Those are pretty good. Mine lasted 4 yrs here in AZ where most batteries last only 1.5 yrs. I installed a Odyssey PC1700MJT full metal jacket mil-spec AGM battery. This is what law enforcement/emergency service vehicles use. Got the best price from west coast batteries in Corona, CA. You'll have to find the right size for the GX and make sure the terminals are on the correct side. I ended up having to fabricate a 1" thick wood base for mine, then cutting 2x4" blocks so the metal OEM strap would work. You'll probably have to do something similar for the GX.

All, thanks for the info. I do believe it is the Panasonic battery from Japan so it sounds like it will last a while longer, although I will keep an eye on it just to be safe.

I have an '03 that just turned 50K, and I replaced my battery about a month and half ago.

The original wasn't dead, but it seemed to be cranking a little slowly after a cold night. Rather spend the ~60 bucks for a new battery than have it strand my wife and kids. Cheap peace of mind.

Interstate is made by Johnson Controls, they are a very reputable battery manufacturer, they also making Sears Die-Hard, Interstate, Optima, and others.
