Default Platinum Warranty - Great experience w/Lexus of Huntsville

Bought the 7/75 plan $0 deductible for $1540 for The Beast (retails for $2400)! The 7/100 would have been $2030 (from $2900), but I couldn't justify it as I don't drive enough.

A big for Jeff Matherne at Lexus of Huntsville. Very professional and responsive, and the process literally took no time - a few emails and an overnight UPS envelope, and presto!

I highly recommend Jeff if you're looking for an extended warranty. His email is jmatherne@lexusofhuntsville.com, and his cell is (251)554-0545

I myself got the same experience from him. After getting his info from this forum, I contacted him for extended warranty and that same day got it all squared away and got an overnight package the next day.

Cool guy to deal with!

I just got a quote for a 5yr/120k warranty from my Lexus dealer today for $1800 with $0 deductible. 5 Years in addition to when I purchase the warranty.

I think I might have to get it after seeing other prices.

Reboot, are you sure its 5 Years in addition to when you purchase the warranty? Usually the Lexus warranty starts from the day you bought the truck, even if you bought the warranty at a later date. Unless the warranty your dealer sold you is not a Lexus warranty.

5yr/120k does not fit any of the Lexus offered extended warranties, does it? Maybe 3rd party.

Default Extended Warranty

I too purchased the 7 year/75k mile Extended Warranty from Jeff Matherne at Lexus of Huntsville after reading about him in this forum. He was very professional and responded to me within an hour by email. The process literally took no time - a few emails and an overnight UPS envelope!

I too highly recommend Jeff if you're looking for an extended warranty. I'll repeat his email from above: jmatherne@huntsvilleautoplex.com, and his cell is (251)554-0545

What is the UPS envelope for? Do you need to send him a key?

Been there and done that! HTH, if you have an offer from anywhere within the continental boundary of the United States, your local Lexus dealer finance department (if they are courteous) should be able to meet it or beat it. My local Lexus Dealership honored mine for 7 years/ 100K zero deductible for $2,000 beating the best offer I had at that time.

You are right, that's probably the case if you are dealing with a rational finance manager. At the same time, there's something to be said about someone who will just give you a competitive number upfront and not require a competing offer before they consider coming down on price.

Interestingly, the process was actually easier than traveling to my local dealership. The same day I received the paperwork, I sent it back -- all labels were pre-printed, and fees were picked up by the dealership. It actually was more convenient, despite the distance.

Well, not all Lexus dealer will meet your beat your quote. Its just like buying a car, not all the dealers will play that game.

I have a question in regards to the extended warranties. I'm looking into purchasing an 03 SC430 and noticed some of them come with a 7/100k warranty. From what i understand, if i get an SC with the standard warranty - then i can just go to Jeff and purchase the extended warranty? What if the original warranty already expired, can i still purchase the extended warranty to last through 7/100k of original purchase date?

Thanks for the help.

Not sure, to be honest with you. The "extended" warranties we typically talk about are new-car warranties, which as you point out, one qualifies for as long as the car is within the 4yr/50k mile window.

This said, I imagine there would be some other options for vehicles past the original warranty period. Is the 7/100k warranty you mention from a dealer?

Your safest bet is to email Jeff, and I'm sure he will answer your questions.

Good luck (and nice car, BTW)!
