Amsoil Severe Gear for Differential and Transfer Case
It's time for my 30k service and while the maintenance guide only says to change Differential and Transfer Case Oil if "driving while towing" some suggestions on this board say that a proactive oil change may lead to better longevity.
With that said I started researching gear oils and stumbled upon the Bob Is The Oil Guy forum which had some rave reviews about Amsoil Severe Gear Oil. Anyone use this before? It seems to be great stuff and is similarly priced as Mobil 1.
I also thought it was interesting that several folks on the Bob forum have posted that the Toyota 4.7L V8 is pretty easy on the oil and that any "good" synthetic will do. The current consensus on price and performance seems to be Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30. I purchased two 5 quart jugs at Walmart for $19.99

Amsoil is a good gear oil. They hype up stuff a bit when they really don't need to, they do make excellent lubricants.
The one I like is Royal Purple Gear fluid.
You also made an excellent choice on Pennzoil Platinum, for availablity and bang for the buck that is #1 in my book.
