hi!!

my 04 GX's warranty will run out on Sep, Right now, It has about 22K miles on it.
Should I get the extended warranty on this GX? My local Lexus dealer want charge me $2500 for 7yr/ 75K mile called Platinum Lexus Extra Care.

The question is what is $2500 to you? If money is no object, I would if I were you, chances are you will hit the 7 year mark instead of the mileage of 75k judging by your mileage. Now is it 7 years from purchase date meaning its only another 2 years? or is it another 7 years from now on? if its 7 i would buy it. Im not sure if its a dealer exclusive thing or what.

Then again, I have an 03 GX with 70,000 miles, never had any problems with it and everything was basic maintenance/wear&tear. I did do the clunk fix with 1 month left on my warranty though a while back. I did not purchase anymore warranty and its running like a beauty.

Tell your dealer you can get it on the internet for $2000 and have him match it. As far as should you buy the warranty, thats up to you. Are you planning on keeping the truck for 7 years? Do you have a lot of problems with the truck right now? Do you want to play it safe or take a risk?
