Tire pressure
recently had my 10,000 service on my 2006 GX at Lexus of Englewood and they set my tire pressure to 32PSI which is what the manuel says but the ride is way to soft and the truck feels like it's floating even worse when taking curves and turns and I dont know what it was set to before! I bought the truck at Prestege Lexus.Last night I set it to 36 PSi and still to soft and the truck drives sluggish would apprecaite any help!!!!
Thanks

The factory recommended tire pressure is the set point that should provide your GX with the best ride and maximize the tread life of your tire, not to mention maxmizing fuel efficiency. It is calculated based on the weight of your vehicle with a tolerance for expansion due to heat generated by your tires when you drive. Filling your tires beyond the recommended setting compromises the performance of your GX and the tire.
For a body-on-frame design the GX suspension system and tire set up is a very good design that seems to mitigate the kidney jarring rides commonly found in other body-on-frame designed trucks. The tire pressure on my GX is within the 32/33 psi range and I do not experience any of the symptoms that you speak of and to the contrary my truck is smooth, corners well for a 4,700lb vehicle and gets out of its own way accelerating off the line.
As the other poster suggested, check your suspension settings. I find the best setting for my truck for city driving is the setting next to sport and for highway I like comfort. Another suggestion that I have would be to check your tire pressure first thing in the morning before you drive it while the tire is COLD. If the dealer checked your tires and they were still warm, the tire pressure would have been elevated and they very well could have releaved some of the air in order to bring your tire pressure within the recommended tolerance. The end result in that case would be an underinflated tire.
Good luck and happy driving!

The recommended tire pressure setting for a GX is stipulated on the vehicle information/specification plaque located on the driver side door or door post. If you cannot locate the plaque check your owners manual. This is what should be followed for the GX w/OEM tires and it is based on the vehicles GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating), which is the maximum weight each axle is designed to carry safely. It includes the entire weight of the vehicle, occupants, cargo, trailer tongue weight and so forth, but now distributed between front and rear axles.
Over inflating a tire compromises traction and everything that goes along with that. In the long run it will cause uneven and premature wear of the tire. More specifically the tire will prematurely start to wear in the center and will eventually require replacement much sooner then the rated mileage of the tire voiding any warranty benefit.

Tire Pressure
I've always been impressed with the handling of my 06 GX with KDSS and Michelin Cross Terrains. I just had the truck in for the 30k service (including drivetrain clunk fix) and the handling has been poor since I got it back. At first I thought I had gotten used to the sharper handling of the IS250 loaner car but the floatiness of the handling has lasted 10 days. Lo and behold I checked my cold tire pressure today and found that the Leuxs dealer had set all 4 CT's to 36 1/2 psi. I've now reset them to 34 psi and have returned to what feels to me to be the optimal balance of comfort and handling.
