New GX owner!
Hey everyone just thought I would drop a line and say hi! With today's gas prices going ever so high, it has defiantely become a buyers market for SUV's as everyone tries to unload them. So that being said and after doing tons of research (actually read 99% of the posts here all the way back to 2002) I ended up purchasing a 2005 GX dark blue (not sure the exact name) with the NAV and 50k miles. Anyways I have owned a 02' Tahoe Z-71 (bought new), 03' Denali (bought new), Range Rover, and most recently an Explorer and I am very pleased to add the GX to the line up. After owning a troublesome Range Rover and having the air suspension go out everytime it got cold and snowed I was very weary of getting another vehicle with air suspension, but from my research on here it does not seem to be an issue. Anyways just wanted to drop a line and introduce myself as I will probably be asking some questions!
Take care!
Jake

Congrats and enjoy! BTW, I think your blue is called "blue meridian pearl" - at least that's what it's called in my '03 brochure and I believe it was the same for '05. Beautiful color.

I am new to the forum as well. I just picked up a CPO 2006 GX 470 in Black. The car had 24K on it. It belonged to one of the techs at the dealership. My friend is a service writer and he told me he could give me a deal on the car. He said the owner always kept it garaged and did all of the oil changes and maintainance at work. I ended up getting the car for 32K with the 3 year warranty. The car is very clean. I cannot get used to how quite it is. I just purchased a set of HID lights, tow hitch, and Husky Liners for the front and middle seats. I am picking up the OEM rear cargo liner tomorrow. I am looking for a bull bar.

Blue Meridian pearl
Blue Meridian pearl color was deleted for 2006, Nautical Blue(8S6) was added and remains as part of the line up till today. Anybody looking for a nice 2006 GX Mak Levinson + DVD, Blizzak Pearl on gray, extra Clean, CPO, 13k miles only, let me know.

My biggest thing always came back to the reliability of Toyota/Lexus and the quiet ride of the GX (it really is eerily quiet). Consumer Reports used car ratings backed me up with overall higher marks given to Lexus.
Yeah I know what you mean about the air suspension, happened to me with a Lincoln Continental (our real estate agent had the same thing with his Navigator), but it was actually the front that went out, but they always 'recommend' replacing all 4 air (bags) shocks.
We also have a Highlander but I am looking to trade it for either a 4Runner or Sequoia (since the new 08 body came out, the 07 and older are a lot cheaper), but now I may have to get a second GX!
