I have 2006 gx470 and the heat smells bad -change air cabin filter few times and still no help any idea anyone??

Is your AC button on when your heat is on? I am guessing it is... If you have changed your cabin filter and ruled out a dead animal under your hood, I would recommend getting your AC system flushed to include your air box and condensor. Although the dealer can try spraying a deoderizer in the fresh air return this is usually only a temporary fix. There are some other threads on here about this problem. The route cause is more often then not mold spores that grow on the condensor and in the air box from the condensation build up which is then activated when it is hit by warm air and moisture - hence the smell.

Something else to try prior to running to the dealer which has proven successful at mitigating the smell for some; run the heat on high at full blast for 10/15min.

In the future, make sure to run your AC on "fresh air" prior to turning off your car. This will allow a lot of the condensation that builds up on your condensor and in your air box to dry out. Otherwise it creates a perfect breeding ground for mold.
