Dealer quote seems quite high. What's a reasonable charge for brake service on a GX470?
Not sure if he was quoting for all 4 discs and rotors, or just discs.

All 4 pad and new rotor from the dealer should cost about $1200 to install. You can buy the oem parts online and use a local machanic to install and save a few hundred.

Lexus turned my front rotors for $360, I bought after market pads for $69 a set had them installed by another mechanic for $110 labor for all 4. So pads all around, turned front rotors all for $608. I could have saved a $100 and had Toyota turn my rotors but my SA has been good to me so wanted to throw him a bone.
Lexus quoted me approx $700+ per axle for just new rotors (parts/labor).
Another avenue to try is going to a Toyota dealership and have them do it. Toyota quoted me $575 per axle for rotors only.

I found brand new OEM Front Rotors online for $102 each. OEM Rears are $96 each. OEM front pads are $48 and the rears are $42. So parts all around are about $500...

Warped rotors need not be replaced, get it skimmed, then you get pads of various choice, I had earlier around for 3years with Akebono Ceramic Brake pads cost per pair paid 70/-$ These were too good. This cost is for skimming the rotors another 280/-. And if you have the tools the job should not take more than 2 hours from the time you have the skimmed rotors . Total job from removal to fitment should not exceed 5 hours. you save on the labour.

Contact these people to see what they would charge you for pads and rotors.

I don't know if they will add shipping for Alaska, But we have a warehouse right down the street here in Maine. I call, ask for a part. and I have it either in 30 minutes, or 24 hours, depending on if it is in the local warehouse, or in another state. Their prices are better than anywhere else I have contacted, and the service can't be beat. Haven't used them for Lexus Parts yet, as I am driving a CPO vehicle under warranty, but I have used them for several other cars I have owned with nothing but rave reviews.

This is where I pulled all the pricing from on my earlier post... If you enter yr/make/model then use the search function to the right and type in "rotor" or "pad" everything will come up.
