Do not use the worm drive clamps.
Is the question "can I reuse the oem clamps when replacing hoses?", answer is yes. I still have my 2006 oem clamps, and I have taken off the hoses many times.
I had to use one screwdown clamp from autozone had no choice. The oem clamp on the new hose attach to the thermostat housing was pissing out the next day at startup after changing radiator and hoses. All other connections are using the oem clamps working fine for now. I suggest using the screw down clamps for all connections while doing a radiator change just so you don't have to go through the trouble replacing them if they do fail.

So what you are saying is, the worm-drive clamp is masking the issue, for now.
If the neck is pitted/corroded in any way, it should be replaced.
