Default Need help installing Invision headrest DVD in GX470

Has any body done this before? I'm not to concern about the wiring since there are a lot of pictures in this forum. However, I am trying to figure out how to run the wires down the seat. Is there a way to remove the back seat covers? Recommendations on how to snake the wire down the seat? Pictures would be great.

Thanks

Pretty easy to do actually. I had a thread on it a long time ago and someone complained about the size of the pic so I took it down and never got around to reposting. Sorry. But yes, it snakes down fine, I had to undo the rear leather cover to get my hand up in there. It took a little while but eventually worked out great. Then I wired it up to the existing video signal. No issues since.

You know I have to ask - do you have the pics? I read somewhere that there are two screws on the bottom of the seat to remove the back panel. Once off I imagine I can figure it out. About the wiring, where did you connect the power wire?

Thanks,

I connected both power and video signal to the wires from the DVD unit down below. I also fed the video through a amp to brighten up the image a bit. Works great. I never completely remove the leather, just released the straps from under the seat for the leather cover and put my hand up to retrieve the wire.

Thanks for your help. I'm 50% there. I installed the headrest today. They look sharp. Tomorrow I plan to connect the harness. I pulled the rear radio and ac consol out.
Trying to find a good power source. Since I do not have RES, will I find the empty harness somewhere in there? Thanks

You should have the harness there to tap into. Pic of mine below. A bit dark in the photo, has worked fine since day 1.
