I would offer 22k and make them do the 90k service and see were they come back at. Milage does not scare me if you have a good history report with 1 owner.

Making them do the 90k mile service is a good suggestion. That one includes the timing belt, and isn't cheap.

This car has KDSS suspension sport package I think 24 k will be fair offer. Major service is service 90k is due soon. So tell them to include service in sale price

Did not realize it had SP/KDSS.
24K with a good history/maintance record would be good.

The carfax is clean and a 1 owner so that is good.
I would at least pay a dealer to check it out (pre sale inspection).
Lexus charges about $95 for this and will find anything major.
I bought my 05 and did this and they found one leaky front strut. I got them to lower the price and it was piece of mind since I bought it 2000 miles away from me.

Good Luck

Carfax does not tell you everything!!! Take it to a dealer for a pre-buyer inspection and have them rack it and look for any damage..paint over spray ect....

I have a 2006 I like it.
If there is any way you can swing a 2007, I'd look into it.
My main thing is the gen 5 Navi has a much better screen. Plus you add the possibility of adding audio accessories via aux input.
My gen 4 Navi screen looks kind of blocky compared to the newer. almost a standard def vs high def comparison.

Just some thoughts.

If I was you I would shop around its not the best price. What I like about this is that it has KDSS suspension. Most of the time dealer does veryn simple pre inspection they just look for major problems.

i post a reply where is it? not appoved yet?

pretty much got them to lower it to $25, but i found another one for the same price but minus the big wheels and it only has 60k miles. but the site won't let me post the link. up side on the private party is no tax and.. im just on the fits on this because its my first >$10k car.. if both are the same condition would you buy from the dealer with higher miles or the private party?

Depends on the history.

Is the private the 4th owner with no records?
Is the dealer a 1 owner rig with records?
You have to sniff around.
I like to buy from the owner usually since I can get a feeling from meeting him how it was taken care of etc.

But my last GX I bought from a dealer who got it from a lease return. Great 1 owner carfax that showed service every 5k. But they were not a lexus dealer!

Good Luck,
Get the KDSS if you can

You'll pay sales tax from a private party purchase when you go to register the vehicle. No way around paying tax on a vehicle purchase as far as I know.

I would buy from the private party. Usualy dealership buys most of their inventory on auctions. When you buy from original owner like someboesle said you get the fellings how well the car was maintained.

Sales Taxes are not collected on private party vehicle sales that occurred on or after January 1, 2006. On private sales that occurred in 2005 or earlier, sales taxes are paid to DMV based either on the depreciated Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) or a vehicle appraisal.

i would only pay registration fees.. saving me about 1500.
