Lx470 or gx470, how much?
Dear All
I am new to the LX and GX form, I owns LS430 now, beening thinking of change to the SUV side, checked couple cars
1) 2006 LX470, 35000 Miles, CPO, top the line, dealer ask for $44000 plus tax
2) 2008 GX470,45000 miles, CPO everything nice, $40000 plus tax
my questions are which one should I go for, and what about the price? what are the good prices for these two cars?
Thank you in advance for any suggestion and advise.
Go Lexusssssssss

Folks are going to ask you to list the options for both.
I'd also suggest searching for previous threads on this topic of comparing the two models. Examples:

The two vehicles are so different you would be crazy to buy one without first test driving both (unless you are not the least bit picky about your vehicles). FWIW, here's something I wrote recently on the LX570 forum relating some of the differences between the GX and LX 470.
I haven't driven the LX570, so I can't comment on that vehicle. However, twice -- once about 2 years ago and once this week -- my wife and I've gone test-driving LX470's thinking of replacing our GX with one. Despite the fact that we like the extra space in the LX, and we like the significantly higher level of interior finish, neither of us can warm up to the sluggish feeling that the extra ~900 pounds of bulk causes, and the "riding atop a flag pole in a windstorm" feeling that it gives when you corner -- even the mildest turn, like at an intersection. The GX feels like a sports car compared to the LX470. I'm surprised that the LX470 is so "wallowy" and am hopeful that the 570 has addressed that undesirable trait.

Honestly, I haven't kept up with the prices well enough lately to really comment. I noticed a little while back that you could pick up a good '06 GX for ~$30K, but I can't recall what the LX was doing exactly. If I had to speculate, I'd say those prices are not bad. I know that the LX seems to be holding its value pretty well (once it takes the initial depreciation hit from new) and I know that the dealers around here tell me that they can't get enough of them. They do seem to sell every one they get within a few days, so thay might not be lying on that one -- though I usually laugh when a dealer says "we can't keep ________ on the lot because they sell so fast!" Well, foo, IF that's the case, you're pricing them too cheap.

I got my 2006 GX470 with 31500 miles for $33,500. What an awesome SUV. We are now a two Lexus family. I drive an '09 IS. Updated the NAVI disk to '09. It looks like new. '08 with 45K sounds very high on miles and price to me. Good luck!!
