This is for a GX correct?

Im thinking you cannot use the same disk as you used in your ES--It states right there "Incorrect" NAV disk--Lexus os pretty smart Huh..lol You have to buy one for your Generation Nav system as its different than your ES

i thought gen 2/3 is the same for all Lexus that carry gen 2/3 nav. I know 02-03 ES300 is the same gen with 03-04 GX470.

Then i put back the old one ( ver 1 ) that came w/ the GX and still not working man, never thought tried an updated NAV disk would cause this headache.

i just ordered a 09 NAV DISK from Sewell, let see if that will correct this issue.

thanks Booyah for the respond! like ur screen name, do u have that as ur licence plate also ??

Ha..HA no license plate is jusr what they gave me. Try and diconnecting the battery terminal for a few minutes maybe that will reset whatever with the Nav unit--worth a try but you will have to reinitialize your windows and sunroof

I almost did the same thing, but didnt get around to do it, Thankfully. There was a newer Nav disc laying around the dealership I bought my truck at and was going to install it. I have an 04 GX, what disc would be the newest correct disc for my truck? Will it change the graphics and colors like the new Lexus'?

• Hold the info button in, and whilst doing so turn the lights from off to on (not auto) and back to off 4 times until a menu appears.
• Do it again from the same menu and another set of options appear.

To get out, press the Display button for a few seconds.
^^^^^^blatantly stolen from some other website!

Gen 2 and 3 DVD based, 5.1 update disc P/N 00230-GEN23CY-05
LS430.................2001-2003
GS430................2001-2005
GS300................2001-2005
ES300/330..........2002-2003
RX300/330..........2001-2004
LX470.................2001-2003
IS300..................2002-2005
SC430................2002-2004
GX470................2003-2004
from what i gather it should work. very strange.

the reason why i posted the 1st quote is that you can find out what version you have by doing that. you can also fix the blutooth volume and a few other interesting things.

EDIT: check the disc for any scratches or see if it has any smudges or fingerprints on it. clean it/resurface it and try it again......this may help or it may do nothing at all. who knows......but hey, it's worth a shot.

I did that for 7 hours and no luck.....same error msg btw, what do you mean by "reinitialize your windows" ? I noticed I cant open my rear windows through the main switch in the driver side after I reconnect the battery. Any idea ?

Well I had is 7.1 in my 03 ES300, which is 2007 version, not much difference beside more street name / location updated and such. But again, I didnt really playing around w/ the old one that long anyway.

I just checked the disc again, I wiped it off w/ clean cloth, no scratches w/ the OLD one, no finger print and still no luck wth lexus computer is so sensitive...
