Default Freezing OEM Brake Rotors (cryogenic treatment)

Reposting from a 2009 thread that seems to have run its course:

I have 66K on the 05 GX 470, 8K with our family. No brake issues yet, and unsure of the history, other than the fact it has OEM rotors and pads. Since rotors seem to be a notorious issue in the GX, I am trying to formulate my plan for the day I have to face the music. I'm pretty much convinced that it is hard to go wrong with OEM pads, which I'll do unless overwhelming advice to the contrary comes my way. I am wondering if cryogenic-treated OEM rotors would be a viable idea. I met a guy who raced a Honda S2000, and after going through all sorts of aftermarket slotted/drilled and "super-duper" rotors, went full circle to off-the-shelf stockers that had the cryo treatment. The issue was warping, not material degradation (sound familiar?). After the "freeze," he never replaced the rotors again, and all the other S2000 guys in his club followed suit after swapping brakes every couple of months. I'm not sure what the cost is, or even sure if I have a local cryo operation. Has anybody ever taken a stock set of GX 470 rotors in for the super-freeze?

If your not opposed to aftermarket Powerslot sells cryo treated rotors for the GX. And the price is not bad at all. I plan on going that route as my rotors are starting to warp a little after being cut less than a year ago.

Reason I am going to go that route is smilar to what you said about your S2K buddy. I went thru 3 sets of rotors on my old tundra, was pretty convinced I would be putting rotors on it annually. To the point where I had an extra set at all times ready to go. Then I went with the Cryos...I think its been 3 years now with no issues....I finally got the brakes figured out on that truck and sold it. But its still in the family so I know rotors are still all good.
