05 Gx470 vacuum switching valve??
I have a 05 gx470 83k miles. It was throwing a code for a vacuum switching valve bank one valve one(code p1442 I believe). I reset the codes to see if it would repeat and of course it did. I took it to the dealership and they said the VSV needed to be replaced by pulling manifold and replacing valve. I let them do this service and no sooner than I drove home the check engine light came back on. Checked the codes and yes they are the exact same ones I thought I was having repaired. Any of you guys have any experience in this sort of problem or possible solution. Called the dealership and they want me to bring it back in again. Wanted to have a heads up before I returned the vehicle. Thank you.

Volman, this is due to the pressure leak of the valve, if you can get underneath to the car towards the Gas tank ( rear side and look up) , there is hose which is connected to the Tank from the body and there is a small canister along held with hose tube clamps, Just push the hose right up to where it is held on the Flow tube, and could you check whether this is loose, if so just have it tightened. I had this warning regularly, and replaced the gas tank cap and tightened this hose, solved the problem. check it out.

Thank you
I crawled up under the vehicle and traced all the leads around the gas tank and did not see any thing obvious that was loose. I am a assuming you are talking about the lines running between the gas tank and right at the rear axle??
Thank you for taking the time to help because it makes perfect sense.

I just read your post Man777 after I posted for help with p1442 code. definitely will try it. if this doesn't work, what is the valve under the intake. is it fairly easy to do? thanks. cptjack1
