Hey guys,
So my wife has been wanting to replace her envoy with something a little classier, my obvious first choice was the GX470 because its well within our price range and has ALOT of features she'll love.
I'd like some pointers on specific issues I should expect and what the common problems may be. I've never hung around in the people mover section (no offense) so I'm just a newb on the gx line.
Anyway, the one I've got my eye on is a 2006 GX470 96K miles!!! THey want $23,999. I know it is a lot of miles but I've got 83k on my 06IS and I dont have any doubts it'll make it to 150k easy. I'm not certain of the specs but it does have ride height adjustment and ML audio. The engine is still SUPER quiet even with the hood up....I'll have to add an exhaust
.
Anyway, any advice is appreciated!

If you can get down to $22K or less that would be a great price assuming it had the 90K service (abt $2k) and it has all of the toys: NAV, ML, 3rd row, Entertainment and Rear Backup Camera.
Also, if you see any pitting on the wheels I'd used that as a negotiating factor as well. I haven't seen many issues with this vehicle. On my '03 all I've done is the oil changes and regular maintenance including the recent 90K service.
Update: I just did a quick search in my area and found this: '03 fully loaded with everything, 83K for $19K. http://www.carweek.com/dealer_listin...tory_id=260053
Here's an '04 with 75Kmiles for $21K...I guess not so good of a deal unless your area has less of them.

You would probably want to stick with 2005 and up model year.
96 K miles is NOT a lot for an 06 - its only 19 K miles per year, not a big deal. 06 seems to be a pretty good build without anything particular coming to mind.
As mentioned before, make sure the 90K service was done and the TB was replaced. Another common issue is the infamous "bump", there is a TSB on it, make sure that was done as well.
You ssould be able to do better than $24K, there aren't that many people today looking for a full size V8 luxury SUV. And after a day like today on the market, there will be even less... Use it to your advantage.
