How do 255/80/17 compare to 285/70/17? Because they look huge on your rig. I just bought 285/70/17 falken Wildpeaks and had my stock wheels powder coated black like yours. I have a 2.5 Bilsien lift and the they would not go on because they rub hard against my control arms when the the tire goes up. They also rub about 4-5 inches high on the running board, which you have removed. The tire place said my tires either have to be narrower or I need rims with more backspace. I like the the stock rims in black just as well as any other wheel and was hoping to use them and same about $1200. Any suggestions or insight? Thanks
Purchased my '04 about a month ago. Since then it's received:
Full baseline/new fluids
Eibach Pro lift kit @ 2" (Measured the lift which was 21 center to wheel well in the front, and 23 in the rear. I was 19.5-20 all the way around pre-lift, so it's ~2 in the front (which was intended) but looking like about 3" in the rear on the Eibach kit. I'm assuming that this is due to my airbags being on their way out. I believe it's correctly installed; the shop that did it is reputable and has installed this kit before.)
Freedom Offroad upper control arms in the front and rear
5x Falken Wildpeak AT3's
Alignment
LFD roof rails to replace the stock ones
New amp to replace the dead one
Pulled the AHC control unit and replaced it with the "cup" version (at least until I need the switch plate version)
Swapped the cabin air filter. Wasn't as bad as I expected, but definitely had some crud in it.
Added an Anker Roav F0 bluetooth to FM transmitter. Probably end up upgrading it once I figure out what I want to switch to, but for $15 this is a solid hold-over.
