Whooshing Hiss Air Noise Under acceleration load with video/audio. Help!
Hi, I have 3 sound bytes/videos. Probably best to listen with headphones or decent speakers to get the full effect.
I posted about this a while back and the issue has gotten worse. Seems to be worse especially in the a.m. when cold.
When I accelerate fairly quickly, not wide open, there is a weird noise of whooshing air, his or escaping air etc. It could be described as some type of whirring noise too.
I can let off the throttle and push slowly into it and it goes again. Only happens under a decent amount of engine load. Doesn't seem to matter what gear as long as it is under the same type of engine load.
It is coming from the passenger side engine bay as far as I can tell since I'm driving. I am clueless as I have searched this forum and found no threads that have a legit diagnosis.
Here are the links: Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks for the help. I checked all of those things to no avail. As far as the exhaust, it is stock. I'll have to figure out a way to look at it without getting poisoned with the car running.
Thanks!
If anyone has any ideas let me now. Thanks!

Exhaust leaks are usually accompanied by a ticking sound. Yours doesnt sound like an exhaust leak. If it is an exhaust leak you have one hell of a leak if you can hear it that well inside of the cabin. Try starting your GX and take a piece of paper and go along the heads and headers (manifolds) and see if you can find the leak from air blowing the paper.
Its hard to diagnosis something like this with a video. Your best bet would be taking it by a local shop or a Lexus / Toyota dealer and have them check it out. They shouldnt charge you for looking at it.

Dealer had car overnight. Service consultant said all tests checked out and they want me to come in and drive it with the tech to show him the noise. We'll see. They were nice enough to loan me a 2012 rx350. Maybe I just won't go back at all! If they don't find anything wrong they won't charge me. If they do, it will be the most expensive rx350 rental ever at $130 put toward any repairs. Maybe their dinking around fixed it. I will keep all who are interested posted on this thread.
