my chrome molding came in today and just installed it - looks fantastic - how did lexus omit this little dressing on the truck on most of their gx is a grave omission - this little thing just makes it that much more luxurious looking... top notch mod imo for little hassle

I'm thinking of doing this but not so sure about all the steps and procedures from Sewell pdf files. Since I'm not too familiar with that urethane adhesive thingy, I was wondering if I can go with 3M double sided tape instead. It might be a little thicker comparing with the urethane adhesive, but at least I don't have to worry about smearing the rear window with too much of it.

the 3m tape will work just fine, after all this chrome molding weight is in ounces - urethrane stuff is overkill

people use 3m for spoilers and they stay on for years at track speed too... 3m is fine for this thing

That's good to know. I might as well go that route since it's alot easier to install vs urethane adhesive.

This was my feelings as well. I have had my aftermarket spoiler on the GX for what five months? I had a front spoiler/hood cowl on another, smaller car years back and took me hours to even get it off the car. Even went through a light car wash machine. Not the big brush ones though. Too scared to brake it. 3M tape holds about 5pnds of torque per square inch I think....... With that said it it stays on when going 80mph on the highway it's gonna stay on.

Gotta get some 3M tape too for the top part now that I think about it lol.

In retrospect I would say this is not a hard mod. But pay attention to what your doing. You will need two layers of 3M auto tape as it's to thin. But it's done. I'll post pics on the "what you did pics page"
