Help with 2003 GX trailer wiring...
Hey guys. My GX is an '03. I took it down to uhaul last summer and had them install a hitch on it. I was mostly just using it for a big bike rack so I never paid much attention to the wiring. Anyways, we are contemplating taking a pair of jet skis up to Maine with us in July.
I believe that it came with the trailer prep from the factory. Anyways, I'm attaching a picture of what's up under the frame. Is this what should be there? And what else do I need to procure to hook the lights up on the trailer?

All you need now is the wiring kit. The OEM version will plug right into those... so a little electronic parts cleaner to clean those out, a tube of dielectric grease and the harness and you're good to go (aside from mounting the receptacle) - given you realize you'll need a draw bar and tow ball (to match trailer - usually either 1 7/8" or 2".).
Be warned though... OEM wiring harness is not cheap. Even if your GX originally came w/ tow prep (which meant harness would be included), you wouldn't be first person to discover it missing. Some dealers removed them from vehicles until customer discovered or had them put hitch on. Why? It was a $50 sticker item but fetched $250+ at parts counter...
You can order from sewell lexus for ~ $200 (sign up as a CL member) http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...2003/4364.html (also try a local toyota dealer w/ p/n 8216960050 but sewell will probably be cheaper)
Or, since your jet ski trailer will not have brakes and in all likelyhood have a flat 4 pin connector, just go to the local parts store and pick up a flat four harness. Then splice into those plugs accordingly. Your local u-haul dealer who installed your hitch probably has as well. Surprised they would install a hitch w/o also requiring wiring for lights installation.
Oh well, now you know.
