Default 2007 gx 470, keep/buy/refund/advice

I just bought a 2007 gx 470, and in the contract it was recorded as 127 000 kilometers and confirmed. However I noticed that the vehicle was American and the odometer actually turned out to be miles... The truck ran perfectly, and was in great shape. I got it for $22 000. It was fully loaded, navi, rear cam, rack, spoiler, tow etc.

I told the dealership (Mercedes dealer) about this, after a week, and they offered me a full refund or $2000 off the price. No questions asked.

I probably should of checked the vehicle out more, but it drove really well. Also they wrote down exactly 127 000 kilometers in the contract, and confirmed it for me. ( I was a little worried about this too ). They agreed it was a mistake on their part, but what's up with the no questions asked thing?

I really like the vehicle but I usually own my cars for 10-20 years. What should I do? Is it worth it, etc. Should I ask for more off?

IMHO, you have been substantially cheated--screwed may be a better term--by about 50,000 miles. To me, that degree of "mistake" by the selling dealer warrants one of two options for you: 1) demand the full refund, or 2) ask for about $5000 back from the dealer.

Their $2000 offer is only a fraction of what 50,000 miles is worth to you. Whereas with 76,000 miles (127K kilometers) on the odometer, you would have 14K miles before the major timing belt service, now that truck is almost 30,000 overdue for that service, which costs at least $1500, maybe more, if that service hasn't been done.

If I were you, I would get the full refund and continue looking, even though $22K isn't a bad price, and $17K is even better. Your call.
