2005 GX470 - 70k Miles - At Carmax - Should I do it?
Long time lurker, first time poster. I have mostly been reading and getting myself ready for when I find the right vehicle with the right mileage.
Just yesterday I found a 2005 GX470 with 70 k miles. Dealer is asking for $21,600 for it. As per KBB, fair market range is between $13,000 and $16,000, but the dealer is not budging.
I checked the service records on secure.drivers.lexus.com, and they are there till 41485 miles, but nothing after that.
Do you guys think it's a good deal? I am thinking of buying a warranty along with it, which will take me till 125 k, assuming 10k miles every year...for 4 years...and I should be able to get timing belt / water pump and such covered under it.

Thank you for the comparison guys. I think I am going to drop this too. I just checked on cars.com and found some better deals. It always helps get more opinion. Thanks again.

Too much. This one is more realistic. Note the condition though.

Checking interest...
I have a 2008 Gx, salsa red pearl, south Texas car that I may be interested in parting with for the right number. It has mid 60s on mileage and is practically flawless. Smells flawless, operates flawlessly and I've only owned for a few months. According to the cardiac, The previous owner was apparently an older female that had every service done that the service writer decided to suggest, it's ridiculous! All at the same dealer in the same town. Once again, it's not on the market, but if someone is really interested I may be willing to part!

Keep in mind. Values vary by the area you live by A LOT. I got a 04 with 80K for 15K recently. Trust me I tried and tried to do better. But here in Colorado they just don't last. There is a reason the dealer is not budging. Wait a couple weeks and try again with him. But that truck would sell for at least 19K here in Colorado.

There is a clean 2007 with 78k miles in Florida, no accidents and decent maintenance records, loaded. I passed as a2008 came up and it had a 7k less miles and it was a 2008. I picked it up Friday and drove it home They wanted $19999 for it and I would jump on it as there are not many southern cars with under 100k miles on it.
