My TPMS light has been flashing for quite some time.

Bad battery according to dealer (I asked them during a maintenance visit). I did not have them replace it since it was way expensive.

Today I was getting a rotate - balance and alignment at a tire shop and asked the, to replace the bad sensor. They found 2. Spare and rear drivers side.

So now I have a solid light instead of flashing. Before I left, they told me it would be solid and would take 10-15 minutes to sync.

Well that hasn't happened.

Is there something I need to do or bring it to dealer?

Solid indicates low pressure (and maybe high pressure). Get out your gauge and check all 5 tires.

Correct.

It was flashing before which is an indicator of a low or dead battery in a sensor.

They tracked it down to 2 dead battery sensors and replaced them. So I have 2 new sensors and 3 old (but still good) sensors.

Now the light is solid. All tires are at correct pressure.

Just need to know if something needs to be reset for them to sync with computer.

They probably did not register the sensors to the car--Not sure they can even do it without the Lexus laptop with the program on it, you are gonna need to take it to the Dealer to have them do that part so the vehicle knows it has new sensors....

I would take it back to the tire shop.

I've always had my tire work at Discount Tire and they have never had a problem with them putting in the right tire sensors for the GX and programming them. Any decent tire shop should be able to properly do this job or refund your money if they can't.

I always replace the sensors with new ones when I get new tires.

If the pressure is correct then the tire shop messed up the programming. Just take it back to them and they'll fix it. I just had to return to the tire shop because Discount Tire messed up the winter tire installation on my Subaru. They work way too fast and make mistakes, but at least they will correct them for free.

Remember you have the 1-2 switch under the dash for summer/winter tires. You might try to flip that switch to see if the light goes off, maybe it got switched to the wrong position. When I bought my GX, I got the dealer to knock some off the price because the TPMS light was on. It turns out that someone had just set it to the wrong position. Lucky me.

And any decent tire shop can reprogram the tpms, there's nothing special about the GX that requires that it go to a dealer.

Sounds like it. New TPMS must be registered with ECU. I do it myself. with a simple tool, TIS mechstream. 3rd party TPMS works fine. OEM ones are so expensive.

I just went through this on my daughters '05 4Runner and my '05 GX. Apparently 11 years is max lifespan on these things. Flashing lights on both vehicles.

Took the 4Runner to a local reputable tire shop. Replaced all 5 sensors, rebalanced tires, registered sensors to ecu... all for under $450! Problem solved! The sensors are "VDO-Redi" brand.

The GX? Since I'm old skool and it's my daily driver, I simply snipped the blue wire and grounded it. No more TPMS issues for me ever again.
