Dual Exhaust Options for 2009 GX 470
I have a 2009 GX 470 that needs a new muffler. Before doing a standard parts swap, I am considering install a true catback dual exhaust system. However, I cannot find one or a solution for a 2009 GX470. I can find plenty for 2004-2007 and even some that are using the 4Runner TRD exhaust system. Has anyone install dual exhaust on a 2009 GX 470? If so, do you have any recommendations or advice.

John

A good exhaust shop will fabricate 1 if thats what you want. I think there is not a lot of room to run 1, the spare tire, gas tank and suspension pump MIGHT be in the way or a tight place. If you find a GOOD place it might be cheaper than buying a brand name already fabricated 1. I would suggest doing some research, pick your own muffler (dont buy junk) and they will let you know how big you can go diameter wise. let us know

From what I remember from the last time I was under the vehicle, there's no room for a 2nd pipe. The gas tank is in the way, and it's poly not steel, so you don't want anything hot near it.

I had a Dodge Ram SRT10 and had them Y out the sides in front of the rear tires. That was a lot of fun! Huge pipes with an angled tail pipes just a little under the body. It was sick!

Thank you all for your comments. After reviewing everyones' points and talking with a few custom exhaust shops, I have decided to keep the stock exhaust system.
Thanks!
