noise from front end on acceleration
I have a 2003 GX470 with 177k miles. I had to replace the transfer case back in the fall. I have for the last few months had a clicking noise on acceleration from the front end. My husband has checked everything he can think of in the front end. It isn't make the same noise it did when the transfer case went out before. Any ideas?

Does the clicking sound correspond with the speed of the vehicle? I.e. does it get faster with the car's speed?

The noise is only as you begin accelerating. Maybe something is slipping? Husband thought maybe a CV joint?

Exhaust manifold leak?

That's kind of what I'm thinking. At first acceleration the engine moves a bit, opens up the crack in the exhaust manifold. Later the driver isn't accelerating as hard so it doesn't open.
