Default Battery died, now car alarm goes off after charging battery

Basically, my 06 gx470 sat for a few weeks and the battery ended up dying. I trickle charged the battery and now when I connect the negative terminal the car alarm goes off and I can't start the car. Is there a way to disable the car alarm or is it the case that my battery is completely dead after leaving it for a few weeks?

Car alarms sometimes need resetting after hooking the battery back up (i.e. won't allow the car to be started). See what it's manual says.

thanks for some reason i thought just turning on the car would solve the problem but it didn't. all i did was lock the drivers side door attach the battery terminal then unlock the door and everything worked. strange design i guess
