Default Broken wire

This is the running boards connection. The plug/wires power the set of lights that illuminate to show the running boards to step on. The wire leading into the plug either corroded or just ripped. It's pretty close to the plug as well. I'm looking for additional insight as to what other options I could do. I was going to redo the wire that goes into the plug. But that will shorten it about an inch or so. I forgot to check to see how much wire I have to work with. In order to be able to have the connection reach each other. Another alternative would be to extend the ripped wire. I was reaching out on here to gather insight on other ideas I may not be thinking of.

Options i can think of.
1.-- Go to the dealer and see if they can match up that connector and terminal wires for it.
2.-- Another way is to just hack it and eliminate the connectors, solder and shrink wrap them together.
3.-- Cut off both connectors and replace them with female/male butt terminals.

Option 2 and 3 will need to be weatherize the connections to prevent corrosion.
You'll probably want to get a spool of 16 gauge wire for the length needed

Remove running boards and add rock sliders.

Problem solved.

Look carefully at the connector to see if there's a part number molded into it. You might be able to cross-reference it to a Molex or Foxxconn connector shell.

You can un-pin that broken wire, solder it back to the other end and cover with heat shrink and then put the pin back in the connector.

I may have a couple I could send you. Let me check when I get home. I installed rock sliders and rock lights and I think I cut those connectors off. Can't remember. But if I have them, I'll send them to you.
