Default Can you jump from nav version 3.1 to current?

Hi everyone. My GX470 has nav version 3.1 and I would like to update it as best I can. Do you know what the latest version is and if you can just jump from 3.1 to the current or do you have to update stepwise?

You can update directly to the latest. I suspect your nav version is no longer being updated so you'll only find one that is several years old

Yes, you can go to the latest version directly. When you put the disc in it will do a system update. Just follow the instructions on the screen.

There was a Lexus site that had what to order, but it's been shut down. You can still see it via the Wayback Machine, and get the part number to order for your model year GX470

https://web.archive.org/web/20170606...what-to-order/

The west coast/east coast versions have the same map data (current as of 2013!) but differ only in the POIs stored on the disc.

Frankly, you'll be better off getting a cell phone holder and using online maps, if you usually stay in areas that have cell service (i.e. not West Texas & remote Nevada)

I did, as others suggested. Worked like a charm, just follow screen prompts.

I purchased mine on Fleabay. Which reminds me... The one I purchased came in a set (ie.. Eastern U.S. vs Western U.S.) I only used the western disk and still have the new Eastern one put away.

Oh and I think my current one IS the latest one, although there could very well be an update. I'll have to check... I currently have "v13.1" Which is far from the 3.1 original disk which I put away as well.

I'll try to post up a quick picture of the new East Coast disk, as well as the instructions I received with my purchase.

So the fleabay purchase didn’t mess up Navi? Before I buy want to make sure it won’t implode the Navi system

No sir. Remember though that the version goes according to your MY(Model Year). At least it does for the first few years.

Mine is an '04 so this is the one I purchased. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-LATEST-...72.m2749.l2649

Check if your MY is compatible.

The 04-05 GX470 uses the pictures part # to jump to the latest map version of 2015. That was the EOL for those models. 06&07 uses a different disk... and so on. Make absolutely sure you use the correct disk.

Yeah, I bought mine a while ago, so it looks like Mr. Jason's picture/disk is the latest version according to that info. ^

I can only take credit for getting the part number and EOL of the nav unit(2015).

Chip is the one who posted the link to the archived part numbers.

I use my phone mostly but I think I would still like the most updated map just a backup. Thanks for the info!
