Default Receiver help

Please let me know how to obtain the receiver plate that allows you to then insert the hitch that has the 2 inch ball in order to tow a boat. My 05 gx 470 has the tow package with the electrical connection but I cannot find the receiver or steel plate that bolts to the steel plate underneath the bumper. Please help!

There are third parties (e-trailer, curt, etc) who sell hitches for the GX. But you'll have to pay shipping on a part that is large & heavy.
Consider getting the OEM frame-mount hitch from your local dealer. They get it delivered via their regular parts truck so you aren't paying shipping. Note that Lexus sells two hitches for the GX470 - the frame mount and the "pintle" mount. The frame mount attaches to the frame and the crossmember and is rated for 6500 pounds - this is the one you want.

You'll also want a ball mount. Note that their photo is incorrect - for the V8 SUVs you want the mount facing up not down so that you'll have the correct ground clearance (there is a tag that comes with it that explains it).

There is no reason to buy the 2" ball from Lexus - you can use any one that has at least a 6500 lb rating (but compare prices just in case the dealer is competitive). You will need a large wrench (I think it's 1-1/4") and blue LocTite. Coat the threads well then tighten the nut to 250 ft-lbs (find a heavy buddy to put all his weight at the end of the wrench). You can use the hitch you just mounted to hold it while tightening - just insert it 90 degrees off to make it easier.
