Differential Oil ... rear specifically should be changed at sub-10,000 miles ... changed mine at 5,000 miles and it was BLACK ... and the front sub-20,000 miles if you care about longevity.

Your owners manual has change intervals. Note that if you do towing or off road use the interval is 15k.

At 65k of severe use (towing, hills, etc) it's due for it's 4th change. Not out of line to suggest IMO.

If you offroad and do water crossings, it's recommended to change much more frequently than that still.

The manual only calls for complete diff oil change if you are towing or using a top carrier. Otherwise it only needs to be "inspected". Of course one should change the diff oil at some reasonable mileage, I changed mine first at 20k with very little towing. At 65k I would definitely do that if you are planning to keep the GX for the long run.

im at 65k, it was weird because the first time i drove off the lot and made my usual left turn, with sound off, i heard grinding noises under the car and speed didnt pick up for like half a second so thats why I got concerned, im in the process of getting four ramps and get the transfer case, front diff oil, rear diff oil and engine oil and filter all done in one day, you guys recommend any good torque wrenches ? accurate and easy to use under the car

That noise is definitely not due to the old fluid. I bought used cars before for teenage drivers well over 100ks with no issues with the diffs before or after fluid change..

Every 30k for me for all three drivetrain fluids. It's so simple and cheap, even with the TC fluid. Worth it for the peace of mind and long term ownership.
