Default New to me GX, questions

2014 GX with 54,000 miles. The brake pedal seems soft to me, about an inch of travel before the brakes engage. Is this normal or do I need to get the brake fluid flushed?

Second question, catalytic converter thieves are rampant in the Houston area where I live. Is the GX a popular target for this, if so any recommendations on a bracket or skid plate to protect it?

I'll recommend you to check your brake pads thread as well as the brake master cylinder for any clogs.

This seems normal based on my 2014 GX, Flush wont help unless somehow air got in your system. With that said, it is a good idea to periodically flush the system anyway to refresh the fluid. If it has not been done since new then it is due.

The aft convertors on the GX seem like an easy target. Just googling "catalytic convertor theft devices" shows a lot of hits. There are also numerous videos out there, here is one:
