13 GX460 low oil sign
Hay everyone. I have 2013 gx460. The low oil sign keeps coming on. Changed the oil, oil pressure sensor and used liquid Molly EPR to see if it helps. The car drives fine. Suggestions please.

have you noticed oil under the vehicle? (check the armour guard)
have you checked to see if you have a timing chain leak? (remove the cladding at the front and look down on your right near the lowest pulley, youll see a lot of dried up oil in that area)

Hay thanks for the response. I did see some oil around where you are describing when I was changing the oil pressure sensor a month ago. I couldn’t see where it was coming from so sprayed some break cleaner and haven’t see it again. I’ll check that again. If I find oil. What’s next?
thanks again

Assuming that the oil level on the dip stick is at least at the minimum and that the oil pressure is in fact correct (highly unlikely that the oil pump is failing) the problem is either the switch (got a defective one) or there is a problem with the wiring. Is the light solid or flickering? When you replaced the switch was the connector soaked in oil or any other liquid that may cause a short?

The oil level is always at the right level. The car runs very well no problem at all. The original oil pressure sensor was a bit dirty but no oil leaks no flickers on the warning light. Warning Light stays off for about five minutes when I turn the car on when its warm. And it come back on after 15 -30 minutes if the car was sitting overnight.

As the engine oil warms up it gets thinner and oil pressure decreases. If it was my GX I would not drive it at all until I get to the bottom of it unless I'm ready to write it off as a complete loss. I would recommend the same as @mike202 and check the oil pressure with a gauge. You can also try to switch to thicker oil (like 5w30, that's what several forum members use anyway) and see it is improves the situation or not.
Inadequate oil pressure causes catastrophic engine failure and the repair cost would likely exceed the total value of your vehicle.

^^ Agree ... warning lights are called "Idiot Lights" for a reason ... they offer no measure or insight as to what is actually happening. You need to use a gauge to measure the oil pressure as recommended. Hopefully the issue is a bad oil pressure sensor ... an easy replacement.
