Default 2022 GX water from moonroof during car wash?

I bought it new and have never opened the moonroof, however, today I got a few drips inside the vehicle on the rear of the moonroof. I noticed it because one of them fell off and hit my arm which was sitting on the arm rest.

Should I be concerned? I did open it today and cleaned all of the seals and surfaces I could find that it seals on but I can’t say I’m thrilled about it and it’s one reason I never wanted a moonroof in a vehicle.

Can you post a pic of your moonroof showing seal contact? It is designed to pass water but if out of significant adjust might pass more than the drains can accomodate

From the outside or inside (if that’s even possible)?

Outside...

Is your 460 primarily garaged at home?

I’ll grab them momentarily.

Garaged 99.9% of the time. I put 60 miles on it in June as I mostly work from home and work is close enough to take the bicycle when I have to go in. I don’t think it’s ever been out in a significant rainstorm.

I will say that they updated the car wash earlier this year and I’ve only used it maybe 3 times since then.

It seems to use A LOT more pressure than the old one did.

Do you mean one of those drive-through car washes? I've never had a problem taking vehicles I didn't care about through them, but I avoid them like the plague for any car that matters to me.

Yes a touch less one.

I don’t necessarily love them but in the winter here it’s really the only option.

I suppose I should stop using them during the summer.

Since your moon roof has not been opened, perhaps it never was completely closed, just a guess. Since you have opened it to examine it and cleaned seals, make sure it's closed tight and just run water from a garden hose over it and see if any water drips.if it does not drip then I'm thinking the high pressure water was too much for the seals. If you see water, take it to your dealer and let them correct the problem. It's under warranty.

I can sure give it a try. I was actually wondering if it wasn’t fully closed as well but opened it before I thought to look first.

Your vehicle is still under warranty. Next visit to the dealership for service. Tell them about your problem. They will check the seal and the drain lines. See if they are plugged

Very true. I’ll mention in at the next service in a couple of months just to be safe.

Just curious, but did you run water from a garden hose on your moon roof and did it leak ?
