Default New owner - brake issues

I recently purchased a ‘23 GX mainly due to the reliability ratings and videos of how “bullet proof” this vehicle is supposed to be. On the way home from the dealership I noticed severe vibration in the steering wheel and brake pedal when breaking from highway speeds. I decided to give it a few miles for break-in to see if anything changed, but it stayed the same. I contacted the dealer and got it into service at 800 miles on the odometer. My GX has now been in the service dept for 4 days with the Service Manager telling me that they don’t know what is wrong and have contacted Lexus corporate. They suggested turning the rotors which I objected to. Based on the low miles and only a couple weeks of ownership, i told them i wanted new rotors. They told me they will try to get Lexus to agree and that it will take another week and half before they are done with my vehicle even though they aren’t really sure what the problem is.

This is my third Toyota product and second with issues. The first one was a 2006 Tundra that Toyota bought back under lemon law due to extreme squealing from the serpentine belt that they could not repair. The second was a 2007 Tundra that was mostly trouble free but did have some issues.

The bottom-line - Toyota is statistically a reliable product, however I must be unlucky with the brand because having my GX in the shop for two weeks or more in the first few weeks of ownership is not acceptable to me. Just for reference, I own a 2018 Volvo XC60 with 97,000 miles that’s never been in for any maintenance issues, a 2016 Mustang that’s never been in for any issues, and two BMW’s that have been absolutely flawless. So statistically Toyota products may be great, but it sucks if your the small percent that has issues.

If anyone wants a low mile (800 mile) GX in Alaska, let me know.
