I bought a Midland GMRS radio and would like to mount the Ghost antenna on my ProSpeed Rack…think Prinsu type of rack.
Where did you mount your antenna and how did you route the cable? I’d like to keep it low profile and not stick up further than the rack itself. Are there better places to mount an antenna for better functionality?
Would like to hear your input.
Not sure if it is the similar application or type of antenna that you are referring to, I have integrated CarPlay with similar unit (not by GMRS), I have put the GPS receiver right on top of the center air vent for a clean installation. It worked out perfect. Here is a photo for your reference:
I used a Kaon hood hinge mount for a Comet dual band antenna (I do ham as well as GMRS). It has worked well for me and is not as vulnerable to tree branches as a roof-mounted antenna can be.
