Either port in my '23 works for apple car play. No charging drop-outs that I've ever noticed. Build date was 5/23.

My GX was built 10/23. Only the lower port works.

Hello, I picked up a 2023 premium a few weeks ago and tested mine this morning going to work. I have a mini usb stick plugged into the bottom port always which I use sometimes to stream music. I did not stream any music though during this test and plugged in my Pixel 6 with the lexus cord in the top port. I do not use android auto though so not sure if that is any difference but my phone charged fine driving the entire time driving. I encountered no problems with mine and will check the build date on my GX later this evening.

Page 114 of the navigation manual says that either port will work for the AA/AP connection, but the other port will then only function as a charger.

I am only doing one plug in at a time. The top one seems inop for everything. The parts bin theory is starting to make sense. Sometime around 10/23 some questionable assemblies may have been incorporated into the final new vehicles off the line. I bet if we iterate enough we could pinpoint the exact week.

I think this what you meant (so I'm seconding it), but the top port won't do CarPlay or charge regardless of whether anything is in the bottom port. I even tried a wireless CarPlay adapter (thinking it was something broken in the negotiation between the iPhone and Lexus, i.e., "Device no response.") But the CarPlay adapter did the same thing: cycling on and off.

I am clueless about CarPlay, having only used it a couple times by accident. Interesting about the wireless adapter. That might imply circuitry problems beyond the contacts in the physical usb port(s). I have a dealer service appointment next Thursday. Will mention what you said.

Just checked the build date on mine and it was 8/23. Both my ports seem to be working fine.

So, where does one find the build date?

Driver’s side door sill. On a plaque/label above the recommended tire pressure sticker. The date seems to be in the upper right of the label, at least on mine.

Now that I know where to look, mine was 9/23. Don't know if it matters but it's a Luxury with the off-road package.

Problem happening for me, as reported earlier in the thread. My build date is 10/23. Premium Plus package.
