One of the front USB ports in our new 2023 does not work for CarPlay or charging

Updates?
Hello, I’m having the same issue with the top USB. Already had the dealer replace with no resolve.. (still has issues) curious. Did anyone find a solution? (Other than wireless CarPlay maybe a specific cord?)
thanks!
thanks!

If you read this thread, specifically from #56 on the problem is explained very well

I was asking if there was a solution. I.e. an after market part or a dealership was actually able to fix the issue. I read the temporary Fixes and I fully understand the problem..
if there are no solutions no response is needed. Thank you.

No Lexus fix likely or even possible. Couple of us have tried new parts with no luck. Nice truck with a quibble, but nothing's perfect.
I like the suggested solutions and feel like this is the best we're going to get:
- Only use the bottom socket for carplay. Use top one for misc charging, like Apple Watch for instance.
- Use wireless CarPlay with a 3rd party adapter. I'm betting the top socket works fine in this case because no Type-C negotiation is required and the in-rush current is probably more tightly regulated. This is likely what I will do as the charging current provided by the GX is woefully small for today's phones anyway. No sense in owning a phone that can charge at 20+ watts and then plugging it into a socket that can only supply 2.5 watts (5V @ 500mA).
- Try different cables. The shorter the better. This is unlikely to be a permanent solution.

I've noticed this too. Aside from just using the lower USB port, it would be great if there was a drop-in replacement like the following that would fix this issue.
In addition to fixing the issue, USB-C ports can handle more current than USB A. So it's possible that you could get faster charging, in addition to fixing the problem with such an item.
Has anyone found anything like this that is drop-in compatible with the GX460?

My wife upgraded to a iPhone 16 Pro last week and we paired it and set Car Play up for her new phone.
1st - We used a USB A to USB C adapter (Not sure of the brand) with the apple cord provided with the phone
- Top Port - Charging lit up and cycled on and off - Car Play would not initiate.
- Bottom Port - Charging Phone and Car Play initiated right away.
2nd - We used a USB A to USB C Cord provided in the Lexus quick charge cable kits.
- Top Port - Charging lit up and cycled on and off - Car Play would not initiate.
- Bottom Port - Charging Phone and Car Play initiated right away.
Conclusion:
Top port is not an option to use with the 16 Pro. (Charging or Car Play)
No issues using the bottom port for car play or charging.
If you don't want car play but want to charge your phone - use the 12v socket with an adapter.
Does anyone have or can recommend a 12volt adapter that is capable of charging the 16 Pro the way it supposed to?
