Default GX460 Eibach lift anyone?

I feel like I have scoured the internets and have found absolutely ZERO information/reviews on anyone who has installed this lift (at least the Stage 1 kit). Does anyone here have experience with this lift kit on the GX460 specifically?

I had an Eibach Stage 1 kit on my 06 4Runner V8 2WD and I absolutely loved it, especially for the price at the time. I have also installed an Eibach Stage 1 kit on a friend's 5th gen 4WD with KDSS and it was a great success.

One thing that sets it apart from the 4Runner kits (+2.75 front, +1.0" rear) is that Eibach advertises it with an unusual +1.0-1.75" front, +1.75" rear lift. Why would it be so different when the GX460 suspension is similar to the 4Runner? Why only 1" lift in the front? I assume it's due to the extra weight up front? Or maybe it's due just the way they sit from the factory. I will likely call Eibach at some point when I'm ready to start lift shopping to see if I can get any technical info.

Any other input appreciated.

ToyTec in Denver uses Eibach Springs ... call their tech department ... very helpful ... they are not just a parts reseller ... they also do lifts at their facility on the Toyota Body-on-Frame line of vehicles.

Much information on Toyota (Body-on-Frame) Forums ... independent of the "KDSS Lean" ... there is the dreaded "Toyota Lean" ... so to compensate, Toyota installed (in the front) Drivers Side and Passenger Side springs with different spring rates (color coded to differentiate). For me, I have since used the ToyTec Ultimate Lift in the front ... provides bottom spring perch fine-tune adjustment to compensate (side-to-side) beyond dialing in the exact preferred lift.

Thanks all, I know this forum isn't the best resource for off-road, but I thought I would give it a shot since I already have an account. GXOR doesn't have any topics that cover this specifically but I'll make an account there to ask questions like this in the future. I'll be making some calls too!

I am running the Eibach medium load leveling rear springs on my 460. They seem like a great setup so far even at stock weight.

i cannont comment on the shocks though because I am running 6112's up front and 5160's in the rear.

How much lift did the rear springs give you? Is your front at stock height?

Go on the Eibach site and research spring options ...

I am 2" front and rear. I wanted to be more like 1.5" but the 6112 HD's I bought are on the lowest setting and ended up around 2" at stockish vehicle weight. They are really meant for a truck with a bumper/winch setup but I honestly like the 700 lb springs on the stock truck. It feels really well planted on the road but still rides well offroad.

The Eibach rear springs are the medium load versions and they are probably set to about 75% of their maximum lift height. This ended up giving me the factory rake, which I like because I tow.

This is approximately how it sits, but not quite, since I have the bike rack on and my driveway is slightly sloped.

Looks good! I'm probably going to pull the trigger on the stage 1 kit and see what happens, I don't need anything too extreme. The only thing I'm curious about is if I'll need UCAs with only 1" of lift

Threw on my coworkers 4runner wheels/tires just for fun. 285/70R17. Surprisingly there was very minimal rub (infamous front bolt). I bet I could clear 265/70R18 (roughly the same diameter) even on stock suspension and wheels because the Prado (black line) wheels apparently have more (+25) offset than the trd off-road wheels (+15). I can't decide if the diameter looks too big, though.

I posted these on another thread but I'll post it here since it's a little more relevant, plus an update.

I installed the kit a few months ago along with 255/70R18 Open Country AT3. I chose this tire for clearance, that narrower tires are better when aired down and that they are only 1lb heavier each than the stock Bridgestones. Alignment being the worst part of this whole job. At first, I ran with stock upper control arms. I was able to get the LH side in spec, but it rubbed on the front fender liner extension while turning and reversing. I also thought that I had a bad KDSS lean, and tried everything to mess with it. I should have left it alone because I didn't realize that my fuel tank was pretty much empty. Once I had a full tank, it was still higher on the driver side, but it was within spec so I left it. More recently, I decided to install the OME UCAs; this allowed me to correct the alignment on both sides and there is no more rubbing! When I need new tires I will probably try 265/70R18 but that will be awhile. I'm not worried about running the stock spare tire because it's not a massive difference in size and if I have to use it, it will only be temporary.
The ride quality is a little firmer and jouncy than stock but that's to be expected. It's not horrible, still has a little Lexus left in it. The tires are a bit louder than I remember when I had them on my 4Runner. With the tires, suspension kit and UCAs, I only spent about $2300 on everything so I can't complain too much. Looks a lot better than stock and the extra clearance is always a plus. MPG is about -1 less now overall. Overall I am happy with it.

I'm running the stage 2 kit on my 460, at just over $1k I feel it was a steal. Quality is great and although the ride quality was very very slightly harsh in stock form, now that I have some weight in front (steel skids, hidden winch mount and 12k lbs winch) it rides perfectly. Eibach does say that the kit is meant for a modified GX. I have been running Eibach suspension on vehicles for 20+ years and their quality has always been fantastic.

Any photos you'd like to share?

I've had Eibach suspension on at least 5 vehicles now and I've been happy with them too. They also have the best warranty so that's a plus.
