I just wanted to share an experience I went through while shopping for a CPO GX 460. Car looked great in photos. Carfax was clean which doesn't mean much but unfortunately it included no service records at all. I logged into the Lexus owner's site and added the VIN and there wasn't a single service record in the system which is concerning. I checked the vehicle out and I could tell it was maintained, I used an inspection camera and could see that inside the valve cover on the driver's side was super clean with fresh oil, no sludge that would be present if there were no oil changes performed in 40k miles. I decided to try using the Lexus app, added the vehicle to the app with the VIN and bam, the GX had been maintained every 5k miles at Lexus and the owner had gone above and beyond getting the diffs and transfer case serviced earlier than needed. I almost passed on this vehicle because of the lack of service history and based on the price I wonder if others didn't consider it because of a lack of service records. Just wanted to throw this out there for people to consider using the app to check service history. I have no clue why there's such a deviation with how and why service history is reported by Lexus but it almost made me walk away from a good, well cared for used vehicle.

This is a new weird thing Lexus is doing, I have always logged on and added maintenance as I have done it (oil changes, brakes, services etc..) but never go to the dealer. about a year ago all of the previous records i had input disappeared, both from the App and online. so now it looks like our GX has never been serviced other than the few things the dealer did early on... furthermore, when I try and go into the app and add a record back, it just comes up with an error code. very frustrating and I am not sure how to solve it other than... going to the dealer....
